Ready to play? The much-anticipated Meadow Park playground opened just in time for Spring Break.

A small, socially distanced event, including Mayor Rob Martin and Colwood City Council, GableCraft staff and their children, marked the official opening of the playground for the community to enjoy.

Meadow Park Playground features custom-designed and built play structures including a double zip line, large log climbing structures, swings, a tower slide, and suspension bridge, and a rubber play mound with tyke slide. The playground is adjacent to Meadow Park Green, a nearly two-acre grass play area that will open in the spring.

Meadow Park is the large central greenway park system that is the backbone of the Meadow Neighbourhood at Royal Bay. The playground and Green are located in the core of a neighbourhood with over 30 acres of manicured urban parks, and natural forested trails.

The playground has been a priority for GableCraft to complete for Royal Bay’s growing contingent of young families eager to go outside and play. The playground and wide open central green space were designed to encourage unstructured play for kids.

The custom-designed timber play structures are crafted by Vancouver Island’s own Kinsol Play and provide the community a new feature playground that will be a draw for young families. Aesthetically, the striking timber design blends in well with its natural surroundings.
