Royal Bay Built is your monthly update about what’s being built in this beautiful seaside community. Projects large to small, we’ll cover them all! During the month of June, here’s what the team at Royal Bay accomplished while following the guidance of Provincial health officials.
Land Development: A new Little Library
Royal Bay’s first little library has popped up! Little libraries create the space for neighbours to come together, chat, and share books. “Leave a book, take a book”, you can find the library in the plaza at Caspian and Dunlin.
Did you know that the Capital Region has over 300 little libraries? The most in Canada! Designed for our seaside community, this little guy boasts solar lights and is wind and water-resistant.
The Sequoia Café continues to take shape with the foundation in place, the sea cans stacked and interior renovations well underway. Still on track for a summer opening, you’ll soon start to see the driveway and landscaping come together through July.
If you haven’t been out to our new HomeStore location, we’ve made it very easy to find by following the signs from Latoria Boulevard to 300 Caspian Drive.
Upon arriving, you will be greeted by Area Sales Managers Tanya Zakkour (Realtor with Engel Volkers) and Brendan Wilkinson (Realtor with 460 Realty). Working together, they can assist in getting you everything you need to make an informed decision about the community, the various home designs and what’s coming next from GableCraft Homes.
Since GableCraft has so many homes at various stages of construction, Tanya and Brendan are able to throw on the hard hats and tour potential clients thought a variety of homes to demonstrate various options. It is a great opportunity for people to check out specific finishing packages, colour, etc., before making their final decisions. As the final landscaping at West Commons finishes and the final purchasers are moving in, we feel a lot of pride. West Commons is a great development and we are very pleased to have created amazing homes and for a wonderful group of new homeowners, and now neighbours.
With the newest offering at Compass, it’s become very clear that people have noticed the quality of our building as well as the designs we have developed. Rezoning of Latoria South
The long-awaited rezoning of South Latoria is now in its final stages of approval with the City of Colwood. The approval of Latoria South will open the door to new parks and pathways, more bike routes, a grocery store, neighbourhood shops and services, and a future elementary school.
The plan for Latoria South has been shaped by many years of direct community consultation and City land use policy, including the City of Colwood Official Community Plan. Latoria South will contain two distinct but inter-related neighbourhoods – The Quarry and The Commons. Stay tuned as the application is considered by the City of Colwood through July.
