What We Presented
January 29 Open House
OVERVIEW
Nearly 200 people filled the atrium of Royal Bay Secondary School on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, to learn more about the plans for the Commons and Quarry neighbourhoods. Building off the community input received at earlier events, this was the third open house about the land-use plans for the South Latoria area of Royal Bay. GableCraft’s application will be presented to the City of Colwood in February
EVENT FORMAT
The open house was another opportunity for neighbours and Colwood residents to learn more about the neighbourhood scale residential and commercial amenities, transportation and park improvements and GableCraft’s commitment to sustainability.
Each attendee was provided a feedback form to complete including a question to determine where attendees live in proximity to the site.
WHAT WAS SHARED
Large display boards (which are available in digital format below) provided an overview of the plans and various amenities and staff and consultants were on hand to receive feedback and answer questions. Dan Huang, from Urban Systems, presented an overview of the plans and timelines to the crowd of 186 people in attendance.
WHAT WAS HEARD
A What We Heard summary report will be shared on this blog and submitted to the City of Colwood next week.
WHAT’S NEXT
All input will be considered in detail and will further inform GableCraft’s active application to the City of Colwood for a temporary use permit.
