Royal Bay Built: A Bustling Spring

Royal Bay Built is your monthly update about what’s being built in this beautiful seaside community. Projects large to small, we cover them all! Here’s what happened this spring.

Upgrading stormwater infrastructure on Metchosin Road

Metchosin Road construction work resumes this spring to install drainage improvements under the roadway.  Traffic interruptions including single lane alternative traffic can be expected.

Expanding Ryder Hesjedal Way

Construction of the north leg of Ryder Hesjedal Way and the multi-use bike trail connection to Painter Road is underway with completion expected in late 2021. Construction will continue to necessitate temporary trail relocations.

Meadow Park Green getting greener!

Hot on the heels of the very popular nature-based playground that opened in March, the two acre Meadow Park Green field will soon be seeded to grow in for a summer grand opening. The central green is the focal point of the Meadow neighbourhood.

Old Latoria power lines to come down

The first stage of removing the Old Latoria hydro poles is nearly complete. Over the past few weeks, underground conduits and electrical boxes have been placed in Latoria Boulevard and Metchosin Road.  The power lines should start to come down in the summer as the new electrical system is powered up. All of this makes way for the many amenities coming to Royal Bay.

Busy spring for home sales

Spring has definitely arrived at Royal Bay as GableCraft Homes has been extremely busy constructing a number of new single-family homes while also building their most recent townhome development, Compass.

With Phase 3A and 3B selling out in the latter part of 2020, GableCraft released Sector 4A and its 41 opportunities in mid-December for potential buyers to consider and possibly purchase. Sector 4A “sold out” in record time.

Fortunately, there will be very little down time we prepare for the release of our latest phase, which will offer another 56 homes to those wishing to consider Royal Bay as their new neighbourhood.  It is expected that the new Phase will be released to the market in May, so people are encouraged to register online to receive additional information.  With three lane styled homes plus four front garage style homes (two of which are brand new designs), the Team at GableCraft is very excited for the release.

New patio homes

Have you heard of GableCraft’s newest Patio Home development, The Villas?  A limited selection of only 16 rancher style strata homes, these 1375 square foot homes with double attached garage are causing a buzz.  Nearing 75% sold already, reach out to Tanya Zakkour and Brendan Wilkinson at the HomeStore located at 300 Caspian Drive for more information with pricing starting in the upper $700’s.

The Coral is coming soon

With the success of our townhome development, Compass, we are pleased to share that another new development “The Coral” consisting of 83 two and three storey townhomes will soon be ready for purchase.  With several newly designed floor plans, The Coral will be an exciting addition to Royal Bay.  Register at GableCraftHomes.ca or stop by the HomeStore to have a preliminary discussion.
